Film producers from Canada, Europe and the United States are set to participate in Trans Atlantic Partners (TAP), co-presented by Canada’s Strategic Partners, Germany’s Erich Pommer Institut and New York’s Independent Filmmaker Project.
TAP is an innovative, intensive, three-module training program for producers with co-production and co-venture projects in development. The annual initiative kicks off with its first module in Berlin, June 23 to 28, before moving to Halifax and Strategic Partners from September 11-16, followed by New York and No Borders from September 17 to 20.
The impressive line-up for TAP 2012 producer participants includes:Serge Noel, Karen Shaw, David Cormican Cher Hawrysh, Judy Holm, Mark Montefiore, Chantal Lafleur(Canadians),Nicole Carmen-Davis, Marco Gilles, Fabian Maubach, Pauli Pentti, Neil Thompson, Ewa Pytka, Kestutis Drazdauskas, Ole Wendorff-Ostergaard,(Europeans),Ryan Zacarias, Jenny Schweitzer-Bell, Jodi Redmond Monique, Peterson Katie, Mustard Susan, Lewis Kisha, and Cameron Dingle Alex Johnes (Americans).
TAP offers one-of-a-kind, in-depth professional development to established film producers. Trainers and resource people are active, leading industry co-production players. Participants receive training on all aspects of co-production, including legal, finance, distribution and exploitation. The program allows producers to gain knowledge and practical advice to move their productions forward.
TAP is supported by the MEDIA Mundus Programme of the European Union, by Telefilm Canada and by VFF – Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduzenten (collection society for film and TV producers). TAP is presented by the Erich Pommer Institut (Germany), the Independent Filmmaker Project (USA), and Strategic Partners.
