From the director who have made The Football Factory, The Business and The Firm, Goodbye Charlie Bright and Outlaw to his credits, Nick Love is now on the work of updating the seventies TV hit THE SWEENEY to the 21st century younger audience. Starring done by Ray Winstone as Jack Regan the lead role (after as Gort in Snow white and the huntsman) and Ben Drew as George Carter (after as cameo, the taxi driver in III Manors). Other important roles are done by Damian Lewis, Hayley Atwell and Steven Mackintosh.
This stylish film is an exhilarating action thriller, proving that, sometimes we have to act like a criminal to catch a criminal.The Sweeney Flying squad which is armed and dangerous is old school crime fighters enforcing the law. Jack Regan (Ray Winstone) the legendary rough detective and his loyal partner lead the squad in a unique way of operation and always got the results. To get the job done, with the bank heist in progress and his old enemy making his reappearance on the London crime scene, Regan dose everything even denying the orders from his no-nonsense boss (Damian Lewis).
Due to the difficult negotiations with studio executive who wanted him to make film with an Americanized style Nick love’s interest in making the movie for several years was not done. The west London area was the main location for filming The Sweeney. The distributing work was done by eOne and the rating by TBD.
