Oggatonama to be premiered at 69th Cannes Film Festival

For the very first time any Bangladeshi film, which is ultimately Impress Telefilm’s ‘Oggatonama’, is going to be premiered in the business counterpart, Marché du Film (Film Market) of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival 2016. Directed by Toukir Ahmed, the film will be screened at the Palais des Festivals at 6pm on May 17. To note, only the producers, directors, artistes and journalists across the world invited to the Cannes Film Festival will get the opportunity to enjoy the screening of the film.


Meanwhile, several world-famous film distribution companies including Warner Bros, Eros, MK2 have expressed their interest to watch the film at the festival. Impress Telefilm managing director Faridur Reza Sagor, director of sales and marketing Ibne Hasan Khan and film director Toukir Ahmed received invitation from the Cannes Film Festival authority for attending the prestigious event. ‘Oggatonama’ is the fourth film by Toukir Ahmed, which he made with the screenplay taken from a book written by himself. Popular actors Mosharraf Karim and Nipun have played lead roles in the film. Besides, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shatabdi Wadud and Fazlur Rahman Babu, among others, are the important characters.
